Word-Whore Tuesday: Reviews

This week "Reviews" is the topic for the Word Whores. Today, I express my deep, deep love of the reviewer and explain why I won't review books.

But if you want my two cents on random stuff from shoes to kitchen gadgets, I'm on it.

Word-Whore Tuesday: Images That Inspire

This week in the bordello, we're talking about "Images That Inspire."  Rather than upload every picture, gallery link, and artist profile to which I often refer to motivate the muse; I focused on four of my favorites inspiring my current Work In Progress, NIVURN.

Word-Whore Tuesday: Pay-to-Play Contests

Lt. Dan from "Forest Gump"
Should you pay to participate in a writing contest? Are book awards that allow anyone to participate for the price of an entrance fee less respectable than those that are free yet require peer nominations from within a closed club/association/organization? Can you still win without winning the grand prize?

Word-Whore Tuesday: 2016 Goals

While other folks are in the throes of making and breaking New Year resolutions, the Word-Whores are committing publicly to our 2016 goals as writers. We'll review our successes, failures, and complete deletions at year's end. It'd be no fun if my goals weren't stretching the limits of ability and sanity.

Word-Whore Tuesday: Pass-The-Plot Flash Fiction

Once or twice a year, the seven genre authors over on the Word-Whores blog play a little game of Pass-the-Plot.

Erotica & Fantasy Romance author Jeffe Kennedy kicked-off the story on Sunday.

Horror  & Epic Fantasy author James A Moore added to it on Monday.

Tomorrow, Contemporary & High Fantasy author Linda Robertson might wanna kill me.

By the time the story wraps on Saturday, it'll pass through the imaginations of two Sci-Fi authors and a Mysteries & Fantasy author.

...and pass the Holy Hand Grenade

Word-Whore Tuesday: Series Bibles

I'm over at the Word-Whores Group Blog discussing Series Bibles. For anyone writing a series, these are necessary records for keeping your characters, conflicts, settings, etc., sorted. 'Cause fans will flay you for screwing up your own world.

Mid-Year Check-in: What Are We Reading Right Now and What's in Our To-Be-Read Pile

From classic fairy tales to necromancers, my TBR pile might well be disguising a hellmouth.

Word Whore Tuesday: Flash Fiction Ad-Libs

Rufus from the TV Show "Kim Possible"
Last week, the Word Whores solicited random words from our readers. This week, we must three of those words in a piece of Flash Fiction. Through the magic of a randomizer, our Sunday Whore Jeffe Kennedy parsed the words to each of our bordello mates hours in advance of our respective posting times. The words I received?

Gumball     Naked Mole Rat     Baboon

Head over to the Word Whores Blog to see how my demented little brain used those words in a very, very short story.

Word Whore Tuesday: Plotting

The Word Whores are holding a pantser versus plotter war over on the blog this week. Should one be on team Plotter, then we're to discuss when and with whom we plot. If one is on team Pantser, then it's reasons why we skip the plotting phase and go straight to the story.

Which am I? Click over and find out.

Word Whore Tuesday: So, I've This Idea For A Book...

It's Tuesday, which means I'm up on the Word Whores Blog. This week we're confessing if we share our ideas for stories before, during, or after we've finished writing the frippin' book.

I suggest bringing a bottle of scotch to the party. http://word-whores.blogspot.com/2013/03/so-ive-this-idea-for-bookwait-come-back.html
